We’ve known for about a month that Joseph Gordon-Levitt was going to get back together with Christopher Nolan to re-create some Inception style magic, but it was Variety that cracked the nut this weekend on who Levitt will be playing.
Joseph Gordon-Levitt’s will play Alberto Falcone, son of Mafia chieftain Carmine Falcone, who Tom Wilkinson played in “Batman Begins,” insiders tell Variety’s Jeff Sneider. The younger Falcone would bring Christopher Nolan’s “Batman” trilogy full-circle, and fits with the director’s stated intentions for continuity and “realistic” villains.
There’s a good chance that he’ll be going by more than one name in the movie, just like he does in the comic book. Along with the falcone name, he’ll also be known as ‘The Holiday Killer’
