Josh Brolin is going to have to rely on more than just his Mocap skills for his new Marvel Gig. The actor who is already playing Thanos in Marvel Studios Avengers films has just been cast as Cable in the upcoming Deadpool 2 film from Fox.
For Brolin, the new four movie contract could prove to be even bigger than his current multi-picture deal with Marvel. While his Thanos role has him appearing as a giant Purple, CGI titan, the role of cable will be all him. That means he can expect to not only make bank on the movies themselves, but on likeness rights for merchandising.
Brolin is one of many actors who was considered for the role of Cable, including Michael Shannon, Brad Pitt, David Harbour and Russell Crowe. He’ll be joining a cast that already includes Ryan Reynolds, TJ Miller, and Zazie Beetz as Domino.
The four picture deal should not only mean that we’ll be seeing Brolin’s Cable in Deadpool 2, but also in the upcoming X-Force spin-off film.
