Looks like “The Brothers Grimm: Snow White” has found its Evil Queen.
Julia Roberts has been confirmed to play the Evil Queen in Tarsem Singh’s 3D “Brothers Grimm: Snow White,” a classic retelling of an original fairy tale.
The film will center around Snow White’s step-mother killing her father and then fleeing her kingdom, only to return with seven contentious dwarfs to rightfully regain what’s rightfully hers.
Roberts is the first to sign on and this will be her first attempt into 3D playing a villainous role for the Brett Ratner-produced film for Relativity. The film will be pitted against Universal’s “Snow White and the Huntsman” which has a December 21, 2012 release date. In that film, Charlize Theron will play the Evil Queen, with Viggo Mortensen in talks for the Huntsman role.
The new series is set for a two-episode premiere, June 4 on Disney+.
