Hey kids, want to see an extended trailer for Jurassic World: Dominion? Good news, all you have to do is find an IMAX screening of F9 starring Vin Diesel and John Cena and you can see it.
We remember the first time a trailer was used to get people to come to a movie. Star Wars: The Phantom Menace dropped a first trailer that could only be seen when you went to a screening of Waterboy, Meet Joe Black, or The Siege. It resulted in thousands of fans buying tickets to a movie and then getting up and leaving after the trailer was done. While the Jurassic franchise is still strong, it’s hard to imagine that it’s strong enough to cause a boost to IMAX ticket sales for F9, a film with a fanbase so baked in that they are pretty much “family.”
Still, with all that said, this is the teaser they pushed out for the trailer, and that means it’s some of our first footage for the long-delayed 6th chapter in the franchise. We can only hope that chapter 7 will see a crossover with the Fast and Furious cast that involves them adding Blue to the crew in a heist of a T-Rex and John Hammond’s frozen brain.
