We’ve heard Zack Snyder mention that he’s never seen the cut of Justice League that he started and Joss Whedon finished, but now we know why. It turns out that after his wife/producing partner, Deborah Snyder and fellow producer Christopher Nolan saw the film, they decided that seeing what his movie had become would break his heart.
Here’s what Deborah Snyder told Vanity Fair in a new interview:
“It was just…it’s a weird experience,” she recalls. “I don’t know how many people have that experience. You’ve worked on something for a long time, and then you leave, and then you see what happened to it.”
When all was said and done, and both she and Nolan had watched this film. They made a decision according to Zack:
“They came and they just said, ‘You can never see that movie,’” t
His wife then interjected: “Because I knew it would break his heart.”
We don’t know if the Snyder Cut will be better than the Whedon Cut, but we do know on thing for sure. The Snyder Cut will probably be the purest expression of himself that Snyder has ever been able to bring to the public… and we can’t wait to see it.
