‘Justice League’ – The Snyder Cut Is Officially Coming To HBO Max!

The Snyder Cut of Warner Bros’ Justice League has been a legend wrapped in a myth, smothered in conspiracy theories for a couple of years now. Depending on the industry insider you speak to, it either exists, didn’t exist, or kind of existed, but in a form that was so unfinished that it didn’t matter. A few days ago, a rumor started to spread that the long-fabled cut of the Justice League film was not only real but that it would be getting a release on HBO Max when the streaming network launches. Today, those rumors can be confirmed as fact by none other than Zack Snyder himself.

After a viewing party on the social media platform Vero for Man of Steel where he was joined by Deborah Snyder, and Henry Cavill this morning, the filmmaker dropped the news with this Tweet:

In case you were thinking that this is just wishful thinking, execs over at Warner Bros were quick to release statements on the matter:

“Since I got here 14 months ago, the chant to #ReleaseTheSnyderCut has been a daily drumbeat in our offices and inboxes. Well, the fans have asked, and we are thrilled to finally deliver. At the end of the day, it really is all about them and we are beyond excited to be able to release Zack’s ultimate vision for this film in 2021. This could never have happened if it weren’t for the hard work and combined efforts of the teams at HBO Max and Warner Bros. Pictures.”

Warner Media Entertainment and Direct-To-Consumer chairman Robert Greenblatt

“Thanks to the efforts of a lot people, we’re excited to bring fans this highly anticipated version of Justice League. This feels like the right time to share Zack’s story, and HBO Max is the perfect platform for it. We’re glad the creative planets aligned, allowing us to #ReleaseTheSnyderCut.”

Toby Emmerich, Warner Bros. Pictures Group chairman

We don’t know exactly when the film will see the light of day, but we know that it will drop on the streamer sometime in 2021.
