A while back, it was announced that the Karl Urban-led film Dredd would soon be used as the basis for a new TV series set in the Judge Dredd Universe called ‘Mage-City One.’ While fans are generally excited about the news, there has been little info as to how involved (if at all) Karl Urban would be in the new show. Thanks to a new interview, we’ve got a great update from Urban himself. It sounds like we definitely won’t be getting a Dredd series, as much as he’ll be taking on a role similar to what Bradley Cooper did in the Limitless TV series.
“I’m not attached to it, although I did have a preliminary round of conversations with them,” he teased. “I am interested in doing it. There are a lot of great stories to tell there… their idea for Mega-City One is basically to build the show around more rookie judges and young, new judges and Dredd would come in and out and I said that I’ll do it, but it has to be done in a meaningful way.”
