Kate Winslet is a busy actor. She’s about to release her survival drama: The Mountain Between us alongside Idris Elba, and then she’s also got Woody Allen’s new film, Wonder Wheel set to release in December, but now it looks like she’ll be re-teaming with the director that brought her her biggest success in Titanic for the sequels to Avatar.
It’s been two decades since the actor and director have worked together, but the two have been looking for an opportunity according to Cameron:
“Kate and I have been looking for something to do together for 20 years, since our collaboration on Titanic, which was one of the most rewarding of my career,” Cameron said. “I can’t wait to see her bring the character of Ronal to life.”
While we have no idea about the details or even the species of her character, we do know that her name will be Ronal. The first two Avatar sequels just began concurrent production on September 25th at a cost of a quarter billion dollars per picture. Avatar 2 is set to hit theaters on December 18, 2020 followed by Avatar 3 on December 17, 2021, Avatar 4 on December 20, 2024 and Avatar 5 on December 19, 2025.
