‘Last Action Hero’ Scribe Set To Write Script For ‘Karate Kid’ Sequel

I’ll be honest, I didn’t see the Jayden Smith/ Jackie Chan ‘Karate Kid’. Maybe I’m just being a jerk about it, but I don’t want to see anyone other than Ralph Macchio and Pat Morita in the roles of Daniel San and Mr. Miyagi. But, regardless of my feelings, the movie did really well, pulling in over 350 Million dollars world-wide. That means a sequel is definitely on the way.

Today it was announced that none other than Zak Penn will be writing the script. His previous movies include hits like ‘Behind Enemy Lines’ and ‘Last Action Hero’ as well as misses like ‘Elektra’ and ‘Inspector Gadget’.

The cast of the 2010 film is expected to return, but no contracts have been signed at this point.
