THR is reporting that Captain America actor, Chris Evans is currently in talks to join the cast of Greg Berlanti’s remake of the musical horror-comedy, Little Shop of Horrors.

According to the report, Evans would join the movie for the role of Dr. Orin Scrivello, DDS, the abusive boyfriend of Audrey, the female protagonist of the story.

Little Shop of Horrors first came to the big screen in 1960 as a b-movie horror flick, directed by Roger Corman. The film also served as one of the very first roles for a young Jack Nicholson who played the role of a sadomasochistic dental patient that enjoyed the pain of the dental drill a little too much. The movie was then adapted again in 1986 as a musical directed by Frak Oz and starring Rick Moranis as the film’s main character Seymore Krelborn.

In the Moranis version of the film, the dentist role was played by Steve Martin. While not the biggest role in the movie, it is definitely one of the most memorable.
