“Lost” is coming to an end, and while that’s kind of depressing, there is one lone bright spot to be happy about. The series finale of “Lost” is getting an extra 30 minutes of footage added to its already hefty two-hours runtime to help wind up the story. The total finale’s runtime along with commercials will now be two and a half hours, that’s 150 minutes.
The Live Feed reports that the producers “have shot so much crucial material for the show’s hugely anticipated series finale that the network has agreed to extend the last episode by an extra half hour.” Commercial time aside, this means there will be around 15-20 minutes of extra story, with the rest being commercials.
The show officially got the wraps Monday night when producers/showrunners Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse tweeted “We’re done. Amen.”
“Lost” the final episode will air in three weeks on Sunday, May 23rd.
