Lucy Liu Joins Shazam! Fury of the Gods

Shazam! Fury of the Gods, has just added another powerhouse to the cast in the form of Elementary, Kill Bill, Charlie’s Angels alum Lucy Liu. According to a new report from THR, the actor will be joining the cast as the villain Kalypso. Her character has historically been known as one of the daughters of Atlas. That would mean that her father represents one of the A’s in the SHAZAM name ( Solomon, Hercules, Atlas, Zeus, Achilles, and Mercury).

Details of the film are currently being held under tight wraps, but we do know that she’s joining Helen Mirren, who has signed up to play another villain and coincidentally, another daughter of Atlas, Hespera. Could we be looking at the daughters of Atlas teaming up to take power away from Billy Batson that they don’t think he deserves? It’s a definite possibility. It will be a while before we know for sure because Zachary Levi isn’t set to return for the sequel until June 2nd, 2023.
