A long time ago, I’m guessing at the crossroads… Tyler Perry sold his soul to the devil. In exchange for fame, money, box office dominance and a bit part in the Star Trek movie, he would not only have to give up his immortal soul, but he would become a conduit of mediocrity through which Satan might corrupt the Innocent and overshadow others with real creativity.
In other words, Tyler perry’s newest Medea film, “I can do bad all by myself” has won its opening week at the box office with just over $24 million dollars. Coming in second, but much more beloved by fans and critics was “9”, the post-apocalyptic rag doll adventure. In third place, beating out several new releases is Tarantino’s “Inglorious Basterds” with $6.5 million. Rounding out the top five are the much maligned Sandra Bullock film, “All About Steve” and the little horror movie that could, “The Final Destination.”
