The Joaquin Phoenix-led Joker origin film from Warner Bros is stacking up to be an A-list affair. Along with the star, the film has snagged Robert De Niro and Deadpool/ Atlanta star Zazie Beetz. Now, Variety is reporting that Comedian/ Podcaster/ GLOW star, Marc Maron is in talks to hop on the train as well.
Not much is known about the film, which is set to be an 80’s New York Noir story in the same vein as films like Taxi Driver and The King of Comedy. Even the Logline for the film is fairly cryptic:
“an exploration of a man disregarded by society [that] is not only a gritty character study, but also a broader cautionary tale.”
You can bet that news is going to have to start trickling out as the film is set to theaters on October 4, 2019.
The new series is set for a two-episode premiere, June 4 on Disney+.
