Mark Hamill Explains His Silence On All Things Star Wars The Force Awakens

The big question mark in Star Wars the Force Awakens is Mark Hamill and how Luke Skywalker will feature into the film. Questions reached a fever pitch after the movie poster was released, without him on it. Now Hamill is speaking out about why he’s been so mum on the subject.

In short, it’s all about the money.

“It’s crazy. This NDA stuff – non-disclosure agreement. Where you’re not allowed to talk about stuff. I have something coming out, where there’s an amount of money where if it leaks because of me, I don’t get that payment. If I keep it a secret until the day it comes out, I get that payment.”

You really can’t blame him for that. Besides, it’s nice to know that at least some of the movie’s story is being protected until release.

This isn’t the first time Hamill has had to keep a secret. He managed to hide a secret script change from both his first wife and Harrison Ford in Empire Strikes Back that revealed Darth Vader as his dad.

Amazingly, he’s not even really allowed to confirm that he’s even in The Force Awakens.

We’ll all see for ourselves when we hit theaters in record numbers to see the new movie on December 17th or 18th.
