Armor Wars is the Don Cheadle led Disney+ series that has been talked about for a couple of years now. It was even mentioned that Cheadle’s James “Rhodey” Rhodes would be appearing in the Secret Invasion series as a direct lead-in to the show. Now, THR is announcing that the series has been scrapped in favor of presenting the story as a film.
According to the report, the change was made so that they are committed to telling the story the right way, and that means telling it as a film. This also means the movie will be shifting from the small screen to the large, as Disney likes to release MCU films in theaters.
If we had to make a guess about what is happening, it sounds like their plan for Armor Wars might have felt a little thin as a 8-12 hour series. So, instead of a lot of filler and episodes that leave fans wondering why, they would concentrate the story down to a two-hour film. We look forward to fans complaining that the story felt rushed and would have been better suited as a series.
