Freeform, the network formerly known as ABC Family is getting into the Marvel game. The network announced today that they have just greenlit a series based on the Marvel comic book, Cloak and Dagger. The show is being framed as a super hero romance.
The live action show will feature the duo in their teenage years as two people from different backgrounds who simultaneously fall in love and find out that they each have super powers. As in the comics, the powers are complimentary, with Daggger being able to emit light daggers and Cloak being able to engulf people in darkness by sucking them into his cloak.
There are no writers or stars attached yet and it’s not currently known if these heroes will find themselves in the same continuity as the other Marvel TV shows and films. However, Cloak and Dagger are frequent guests in several of the books that have already made the leap to live action. )
