While we’ve not seen him in any of the Inhuman appearances on Agents of SHIELD, it is a fact that you just can’t have an Inhumans series without the Inhuman King, Blackbolt. If you’ve never heard of the character, he’s an ultra powerful Inhuman that remains mostly silent as his whisper is powerful enough to destroy a city.
According to EW, Marvel has now cast Anson Mount, known for Hell on Wheels, Dollhouse, and Straw Dogs, as the leader of the Inhumans for the upcoming ABS series. On the casting, Jeph Loeb said, “Anson loves the challenge of playing a character who will only communicate silently. His enthusiasm mixed with his imposing almost regal persona made it easy to see why he is our Black Bolt.”
Mount joins a cast that so far only has Game of Thrones actor Iwan Rheon as Maximus. The Inhumans will premier on Imax screens September 1, before continuing as a series on ABC on September 26.
