Last night, Marvel dropped an epic new trailer for the upcoming Secret Wars Disney+ series slated to hit the streaming network this June. The new show will not only have major stakes for the MCU moving forward but will also give fans some of the intrigue and more serious tone that has been missing from the last few MCU outings.
We know that Secret Invasion will lead directly into Armor Wars, but we have a feeling that it could also lead directly into Thunderbolts and Captain America: New World Order. We know that Harrison Ford has taken over the role of Thunderbolt Ross and that he will be the President when we see him in those films. However, the president in Secret Invasion will be President Ritson as played by Dermot Mulroney. Our bet is that one of the big reveals of the show will be that the Skrulls have replaced Ritson and that when the dust settles, Ross will use the crisis to manipulate his way into office.
Along with Samuel L. Jackon’s returning as Nick Fury, the show also stars: Ben Mendelsohn as Talos, Cobie Smulders as Maria Hill, Martin Freeman as Everett Ross, Kingsley Ben-Adir as Gravik, Charlayne Woodard as Priscilla Fury, Killian Scott as Fiz, Samuel Adewunmi, Dermot Mulroney as President Ritson, Christopher McDonald, Katie Finneran, with Emilia Clarke as G’iah, Olivia Colman as Sonya Falsworth, and Don Cheadle James Rhodes/War Machine.
In Marvel Studios’ new series “Secret Invasion,” set in the present day MCU, Nick Fury learns of a clandestine invasion of Earth by a faction of shapeshifting Skrulls. Fury joins his allies, including Everett Ross, Maria Hill and the Skrull Talos, who has made a life for himself on Earth. Together they race against time to thwart an imminent Skrull invasion and save humanity.
