It seems like there’s been a He-Man film in development since the last one starring Dolph Lundgren and Courtney Cox hit theaters in the 80’s. The problem is that they just can’t seem to hang on to a director. The latest director to slip their their fingers is David S. Goyer. According to Variety, he’s bailed on the project due to prior commitments. Previously, it had been attatched to Kung Fu Panda director, John Stevenson, G.I. Joe: Retaliation helmer M. Chu, and Charlie’s Angels director, McG.
While Goyer won’t be directing the film, he’s still planning to write and executive produce it. While that helps, it leaves Sony with a big problem as they’d already announced a December 18, 2019 release date for the film. So, who will be the next director to slip into the He-Man gig? At this point, it’s anyone’s guess.
