The Matrix 4 has resumed production in Berlin, Germany, and Keanu Reeves has taken a little time out of his schedule to give fans an update on how things are going. Here’s what the actor told the AP in a new interview:

“It’s great. It’s an honor to be working. I’m in Berlin, you can hear the sirens. You know, there’s some really thoughtful, effective protocols in place. The rhythm of filmmaking has been not really impacted or interrupted.”

“You know, I think everyone loves the project. If you’re ever going to get into any kind of situation that needs to be figured out or ‘How do we do this?’ Show business people are the best. We’re scrappy, we know how to get stuff done. We’re inventive, we think on our feet. That kind of kindred spirit coming together. It goes back to ‘Let’s put on a show! We’ve got some props, we’ve got some things, we’re going to run it!’ That spirit is definitely alive and well on The Matrix.”

Meanwhile, fans of the franchise are wondering why we haven’t heard anything about the return of Laurence Fishburne as Morpheus. After all, if Neo, Trinity (Carrie-Ann Moss), and even Niobe (Jada Pinket Smith) are back for a new adventure, you’d need Morpheus, right? Apparently not so much. In a new interview with The Wrap, the actor gave a very direct, short answer about on the subject:

“I have not been invited. Maybe that will make me write another play. I wish them well. I hope it’s great.”

Keanu Reeves will next be seen in around 10 days when he and Alex Winter star in Bill & Ted Face The Music. Meanwhile, Fishburne can be seen on ABC’s hit series, Blackish.

Joining Reeves, Moss, and Pinket Smith is another returning cast member – Lambert Wilson (The Merovingian) as well as new additions: Jonathan Groff, Priyanka Chopra, Neil Patrick Harris, Jessica Henwick, and Yahya Abdul-Mateen II.
