Deadline is reporting that Matthew Vaughn has pulled out of the X-Men: First Class sequel, Days of Future Past. What is almost bigger news is that the studio is looking at Bryan Singer as their first choice on replacing him.
Singer directed the first two X-Men films and also wrote the treatment and produced First Class. If it happens, Singer will direct off a script written by Simon Kinberg, and Vaughn will be producing the film.
In the meantime, Vaughn will work on adapting the Mark Millar series, Secret Service, for the big screen.
