Looks like we have a winner. News officially broke today that Melissa Benoist has landed the title role in CBS’s upcoming “Supergirl” TV series. Benoist who’s best known as Marley Rose from Fox’s “Glee” will now take up the mantle as Kara Zor-El AKA Kara Danvers.
From Variety, here’s a blur describing her character’s situation on the show:
“The show focuses on Kara Zor-El after she crash landed on Earth. She has been hiding her powers for most of her life, but when the show starts, Kara is 24 and ready to embrace her powers and try and become the hero she was always meant to be.”
Other characters that have yet to be cast include photojournalist and Superman’s pal, Jimmy Olsen and Kara’s stepsister, Alex Danvers.
