Oscar Isaac may still have a while before his Dune film hits theaters and HBO Max, and he will probably never step back into the role of Poe Dameron for Star Wars, but the actor has just landed another iconic role, this time from the world of video games. Isaac will be taking the lead role in an upcoming cinematic adaptation of the Metal Gear Solid video games.
the new film, is set to be directed by Jordan Vogt-Roberts, based on the game franchise created by Hideo Kojima. Seeing as how Kojima and Sony had a not so amicable parting of the ways a couple of years ago, it would be a pretty big surprise if he has anything to do with it. While Jurassic World writer Derek Connolly will be writing the script for the film. Avi Arad, producer of most of Marvel’s worst films is set to produce.
If all goes well, we’ll be looking at the next big franchise for Sony. If not, we’ll be looking at another one for the history books like Michael Fassbender’s Assassin’s Creed movie. Either way, Isaac will do just fine. He’s prepping to take on the role of Moon Knight for Marvel Studios in a new Disney+ series.
