According to Showbiz 411, Michael Fassbender (Inglorious Bastards) is reported to have been cast as a young Magneto in Matthew Vaughn’s “X-Men: First Class.”
A few weeks ago it was speculated that Fassbender may have interest playing an unnamed villain in Marc Webb’s ucoming Spider-Man reboot. Well speculate no more.
Fassbender has gone the mutant route and will join James McAvoy (Wanted) who will play a young Charles Xavier; Benjamin Walker (Flags of our Fathers) who plays Dr. Hank McCoy/Beast and Rosamund Pike (An Education) who will play Emma Frost.
“X-Men: First Class” is set for a tentative June 3, 2011 release.
