Michael Keaton Back In Spider-Man: Homecoming?

It wasn’t that long ago that stories were flying around about Michael Keaton taking on the role of the Vulture in the new Spider-Man flick. No sooner did the stories arise than they broke down and it was reported that Keaton would not be doing the film. Now, Spidey has made his triumphant return in the hit Captain America: Civil War, and JoBlo is reporting that Keaton is now in final talks to join the film.

As previously reported, the Beetlejuice star and former Batman would be playing the role of the The Vulture, but we now know that he wouldn’t be the only villain in the film. The man behind his wings would be the Tinkerer, and reports are that he’ll be using scavenged Chitauri tech from the battle of New York in the first Avengers film to put his suit together.

I can get behind this, especially if Tinkerer gets away in the end. I have to guess that Vulture will be a one and done baddie, just like pretty much all Marvel movie villains. However, if you at least leave the Tinkerer out there, you’ve got someone providing criminals with a steady supply of tech that will keep Spider-Man busy, even with the mentorship of Tony Stark.

Spider-Man: Homecoming hits theaters on July 7, 2017.
