The Muppet Movie is coming out this Thanksgiving and once again, Jim Henson’s creations are finally getting some of the attention they’ve been sorely lacking for the last couple years. One of the great new projects that Disney is pushing out to get fans excited is a cover album of Muppet songs called “The Green Album.” Included on the album are performances from OK Go, Weezer, The Fray, Alkaline Trio, Andrew Bird, My Morning Jacket, Amy Lee, Sondre Leche, The Airborne Toxic Event, Brandon Saller, Matt Nathanson and Rachel Yamagata.
The first video from the album, OK Go’s rendition of The Muppet Show Theme Song, just hit the net and it is awesome! They had me at Sweetums and sealed the deal with Marvin Suggs. The video is full of classic Muppet charm… and I guess OK Go isn’t bad either.
Now that you’ve seen the video, you can listen to the entire Green Album right here as well!
