NBC Moves Mystery Miniseries ‘Persons Unknown’ To Saturdays

NBC’s summer mystery miniseries “Persons Unknown” has been has been pulled out of the Monday night lineup and moved to Saturday nights.

Tonight (July 5th) will be the show’s last Monday night airing before the miniseries gets permanently moved to Saturdays beginning July 17th. Despite a small cult following and some decent reviews, the show has struggled mightily and affiliates are unhappy with its ratings.

This move wouldn’t be the shows’ first, as two weeks ago it had moved from the 10PM time slot to 8PM.

The good news however, is that the entire thirteen episode season is already filmed and they are expected to be broadcast so fans of the show are expected to have resolution.

The series is expected to run uninterrupted on its new night except during the Visa Gymnastics Championships which will preempt the show on August 14th. The final episode is scheduled to air on September 4th.

As for Monday’s lineup, it will now feature an “America’s Got Talent” encore at 8PM, a new “Last Comic Standing” at 9PM followed by “Dateline NBC” at 10PM.

“Persons Unknown” follows a group of kidnapped strangers who find themselves trapped in a deserted town from which they cannot escape and are constantly being monitored. The cast includes Chadwick Boseman, Lee Purcell, Jason Wiles, Andy Greenfield, Daisy Betts, Tina Holmes, Alan Ruck, Kate Lang Johnson, Sean O’Bryan, and Gerald Kyd.
