Neil Gaiman’s ‘Sandman’ Being Developed As A TV Series

Fans of Neil Gaiman’s “Sandman” series can rejoice. After years of development hell for the film adaptation and a failed HBO series, Warner Bros. is looking to actively bring “Sandman” to television.

According to THR, a new “Sandman” series is being planned and WB is currently seeking the right person to become the program’s showrunner. WB TV has actively been in talks with writers-producers to adapt the iconic 1990’s comic book that made Neil Gaiman a household name.

Currently “Supernatural” creator Eric Kripke is at the top of the studio’s list. Additionally, “Kick-Ass” and “X-Men: First Class” director Matthew Vaughn had previously stated that he’d love to adapt Gaiman’s “Sandman.”

The critically acclaimed “Sandman” is a comic book series written by Neil Gaiman and published under the DC Comics imprint Vertigo. It ran for 75 issues beginning in 1989 all the way up until 1996. The story told about Morpheus (Dream), a deity who personifies dreams. It was the only comic book to ever win the World Fantasy Award and is one of the few comic books to have ever been on the New York Times Best Seller list.

We’ll definitely have more on “Sandman” as the project progresses.
