Neil Patrick Harris is coming back for his second turn as the host of the 2011 Tony Awards, but this year he is going to take advantage of the biggest mess on Broadway to make the show truly legen… wait for it… dary.
In a press release announcing the gig he said:
“Since they’re closed for retooling, we’re using all the rigging equipment from ‘Spider-Man.’ What could possibly go wrong.”
NPH as really proven himself to be one of the more versatile and under appreciated actors in Hollywood today. It is great to see him in a live gig where he really gets to shine through.
Now it all comes down to how the rigging holds up. It is pretty well understood that ‘Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark’ is as close to cursed as you can get. Almost everyone in the rigging has ended up in the hospital at some point and now the whole show is shut down for retooling. Let’s just hope that his status as both an actor and a geek give him the extra protection he needs.
