On Sunday, Fox pushed out a couple of new TV Spots for Alien: Covenant. One of the spots was called “Take Me Home” because of the music playing in the background (John Denver’s “Take Me Home Country Road”). At the end of the spot, they revealed the hashtag #emoh em ekat, which is just Take Me Home spelled backwards. This led fans to a trailer that was almost identical, except for the extra 8 seconds that start to give us an idea of what happened to Elizabeth Shaw, Noomi Rapace’s character from Prometheus.
What exactly that fate is? I’m not sure. The trailer is relatively cryptic, as it should be. Along with Rapace, Alien: Covenant stars Michael Fassbender, Katherine Waterson, Danny McBride, Amy Seimetz, Billy Crudup, Demian Bichir, Tess Haubrich, Nathaniel Dean and Carmen Ejogo.
Here’s the original commercial, followed by the Instagram spot.
Ridley Scott returns to the universe he created, with ALIEN: COVENANT, a new chapter in his groundbreaking ALIEN franchise. The crew of the colony ship Covenant, bound for a remote planet on the far side of the galaxy, discovers what they think is an uncharted paradise, but is actually a dark, dangerous world. When they uncover a threat beyond their imagination, they must attempt a harrowing escape.
