The newest Bond film, Quantum of Solace, is breaking records for the long-lasting franchise. Despite being dogged by critics for being too violent or not following Bond canon to the last detail, the viewers are flocking to it over and over again.
The Hollywood Reporter is reporting that the numbers are big for the new film. The new film has taken over $70,400,000 in its first weekend of US Release. The second largest US Bond movie opening is Die Another Day with $47,072,040.
According to Boxofficemojo, the largest total US take for a bond film was Casino Royale (no, not the one with Peter Sellers), which made $167,445,960 domestically and $426,793,106 in international markets.
Quantum of Solace has only been floating around international markets for a few weeks, but its foreign take is already: $251,600,000. This movie is well on its way to clearing the 500 million dollar mark and possibly even shooting much farther.
