If this clip is a barometer for the tone of Dawn of the Planet of The Apes, you can be sure that the film will have a much darker edge than its predecessor.
Official synopsis:
A growing nation of genetically evolved apes led by Caesar is threatened by a band of human survivors of the devastating virus unleashed a decade earlier. They reach a fragile peace, but it proves short-lived, as both sides are brought to the brink of a war that will determine who will emerge as Earth’s dominant species.
Andy Serkis is reprising his role as Caesar, and he’ll be joined by Jason Clarke, Keri Russell, Gary Oldman, Judy Greer, Kodi Smit-McPhee, and Toby Kebbell. Dawn of the Planet of the Apes opens July 11, 2014.
The new series is set for a two-episode premiere, June 4 on Disney+.
