The first two Despicable Me films have been pretty solid, and despite an abominable Minion Movie spin-off, I’m still looking forward to a third movie from Gru and the gang. In the new film, we will learn about Gru’s family and their criminal history. Will Gru get drawn back into a life of crime by his brother? Probably for the first and second act. Will Gru save the day in the end with the help of his wife and adopted kids, you could safely bet on it.
Joining Steve Carell and Kristen Wiig in Despicable Me 3 is Emmy, Tony and Grammy Award winner Trey Parker, co-creator of Comedy Central’s global phenomenon South Park and the Broadway smash The Book of Mormon. Parker voices the role of villain Balthazar Bratt, a former child star who’s grown up to become obsessed with the character he played in the ‘80s, and proves to be Gru’s most formidable nemesis to date.
