If you’ve not heard the story of Navy Seal Marcus Luttrell, it is one that both horrifies and inspires. As tragic as story as it was, it seems like it was made to be put on the big screen. Ever since he returned from the failed mission in 2005, he’s been giving lectures and writing books about what happened, so that his brothers in arms are never forgotten.
Now, Director Peter Berg is putting the story on film with Mark Whalberg and Eric Bana in the lead roles. Today, a new featurette for the film was released that focuses on the story behind the film and what it means to both Berg and Luttrel.
Official Synopsis:
Based on the failed June 28, 2005 mission “Operation Red Wings”. Four members of SEAL Team 10 were tasked with the mission to capture or kill notorious Taliban leader Ahmad Shahd. Marcus Luttrell was the only member of his team to survive.
