This is one of those movies that has me very excited. Along with being a new Danny Boyle film and a continuation of a film that I grew up loving, it also means we get to see the tremendous chemistry of Ewan McGregor (Beauty and the Beast, Star Wars) and Jonny Lee Miller (Hackers, CBS’ Elementary) on screen together again.
In the new film, the story picks up 20 years after the original film and brings back four of the main characters: Renton (McGregor), Sickboy (Miller), Spud (Ewen Bremner), and Begby, (Robert Carlyle). It will tie back to events in the first film and the reason why Renton has been MIA for the last two decades. We don’t know much more than that, but the new international trailer is filled with a ton more footage than we’ve seen anywhere else.
