New Star Wars Animated Series Post ‘Return Of The Jedi’

Although the principal Star Wars movie may have concluded with “Return of the Jedi,” it’s recently been announced at the C2E2 convention last week that a new animated series that’ll take place after Jedi is now in the works!

Lucasfilm Director of Fan Relations Steve Sansweet confirmed that he “would really love to see new adventures after Jedi with our favorite characters Luke, Han and Leia.”

And that we will “in the new animation.”

Sansweet did not go into details regarding the series, such as if it’ll stick to original material or be based on the new universe, but he did add that “not everyone who dies in sci-fi stays dead.” Possibly teasing at the return of everyone’s favorite bounty hunter and maybe even Jabba or Vader. But regardless, this means for the first time ever we’ll have all new adventures for Luke, Han, Leia and Chewy! Finally, not this clone war crap.

It was never mentioned that this animated series has anything to do with the other Star Wars animated sitcom series in the works being developed by The Daily Show/Frank TV. I can’t possibly imagine it being one of the same, so I’ll just leave it at that and pray to the Lucas gods that they do the right thing.
