New Trailer for Hugh Jackman’s ‘Real Steel’

The new trailer for Hugh Jackman and Evangeline Lilly’s adaptation of the classic game Rock-Em Sock-Em Robots just hit the net and it looks like it might actually be a pretty decent movie considering the source material.

It is pretty interesting to see what they’ve done here to create a story around an old toy. It makes me really curious to see what they are going to do with the Battleship and Monopoly movies.

The movie definitely has a family vibe to it. They can get in all the violence they want without having to show blood. They’ve got the dad and little kid dynamic… The movie actually has a much softer ton than I expected.

What do you think?

Here’s the official synopsis:
Charlie Kenton is a washed-up fighter who lost his chance at a title when 2000-pound, 8-foot-tall steel robots took over the ring. Now nothing but a small-time promoter, Charlie earns just enough money piecing together low-end bots from scrap metal to get from one underground boxing venue to the next. When Charlie hits rock bottom, he reluctantly teams up with his estranged son Max to build and train a championship contender. As the stakes in the brutal, no-holds-barred arena are raised, Charlie and Max, against all odds, get one last shot at a comeback.
