The long slide downhill for the Star Wars universe started with the Remastered editions in the late 90’s. Unnecessary fixes and changes, along with the vomiting of CGI all over the screen laid the groundwork for the disappointment that was the Prequel trilogy. I’m not saying I love Star Wars any less. In fact, what the franchise tried to kill with bad movies and worse effects, they were able to do the complete opposite in the animated series Clone Wars and Rebels. Now, with what I’ve seen so far about The Force Awakens, I’ve filled with more hope than fear.
