One of Batman’s former sidekicks is getting his own film from Warner Bros and the Lego Batman Movie’s director, Chris McKay looks like the strongest choice for the movie. According to THR, McKay is currently in talks to helm the project, which will be written by the screenwriter behind The Judge and The Accountant.
We know nothing as far as details on the project so far, just that you can bet it will probably be different than the way McKay presented the Boy Wonder in the Batman Lego Movie. You can also bet that, despite the eventual internet clamor for Joseph Gordon Levitt to take on the role, it’s just not going to happen.
One of the interesting things about bringing Nightwing into the fray is that it opens up a whole new line of possibilities, should Justice League crap the bed. After all, Grayson is a founding member of the Teen Titans.
Nightwing now joins a stable of films set for release that includes: The Batman, David Ayer‘s Gotham City Sirens, James Wan‘s Aquaman, a Suicide Squad sequel, and stand alone films for The Flash, Cyborg, Shazam, and Dwayne Johson‘s Black Adam.
