Netflix just dropped a new trailer for the upcoming animated feature Over the Moon, and it is time to start getting excited about this movie. In the film a girl seeks to prove that the stories about a moon princess that her dead mother told her are true, builds a rocket and flies to the moon. From there, we’re treated to a trippy adventure that looks somewhere between Spider-Man into the Spider-Verse and Coco in regards to visuals.
Aside from an excellent voice cast that includes Cathy Ang, Phillipa Soo, Robert G. Chiu, Ken Jeong, John Cho, Ruthie Ann Miles, Margaret Cho, Kimiko Glenn, Artt Butler, Irene Tsu, Clem Cheung, Conrad Ricamora and Sandra Oh, the movie is coming to us from animation royalty. Directing the film is Glen Keane who animated both Little Mermaid and Beauty and The Beast for Disney before co-directing the Oscar-Winning Pixar short, Paperman.
Fueled with determination and a passion for science, a bright young girl builds a rocket ship to the moon to prove the existence of a legendary Moon Goddess. There she ends up on an unexpected quest, and discovers a whimsical land of fantastical creatures. Directed by Oscar®-Winning Filmmaker & Animator, Glen Keane, and produced by Gennie Rim and Peilin Chou. Starring Cathy Ang, Phillipa Soo, Robert G. Chiu, Ken Jeong, John Cho, Ruthie Ann Miles, Margaret Cho, Kimiko Glenn, Artt Butler, Irene Tsu, Clem Cheung, Conrad Ricamora and Sandra Oh.
