Paddington surprised everyone when it came out in theaters. No one was expecting much from the film and it turned out to be one of the best films to hit theaters that year. Amazingly, the sequel was even better. Both films owe much of that to director Paul King. Today we learned that a third Paddington film was in the planning stages, prepping what could be the cap to one of the best trilogies of all time. Sadly, though, Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald producer David Heyman said in a new interview that he doesn’t think King will direct the third film.
The news is sad, but it makes sense, especially given how busy King currently is. He’s currently attached to Disney’s live-action adaptation of Pinocchio as well as the upcoming Willy Wonka prequel film that sounds like it doesn’t need to happen.
We’ll keep you posted as more info comes out about the Paddington threequel
