Doctor Who star, Matt Smith is heading back to the big screen with a new horror film where he can talk to zombies! It would have been strange to think about Stanley Tucci being in this film as well, but given his recent roles in things like the Transformers films, it seems like he’s in a very “yes” mood. While the film is hitting theaters in September, it’s hitting video on demand a full month before that. That suggests that this film may have more life as a cult success than an actual box office winner.
In the pandemic thriller, PATIENT ZERO, humanity is battling intelligent, adrenaline-fueled creatures born from a viral super-strain. After being bitten, human survivor Morgan (Matt Smith) realizes he is asymptomatic and can communicate with the infected, leading the last survivors on a hunt for Patient Zero and a cure.
The new series is set for a two-episode premiere, June 4 on Disney+.
