Paul W.S. Anderson (Resident Evil, Alien vs. Predator) is attached direct a movie adaptation of “Buck Rogers,” a fighter pilot who wakes up in the 25th century and finds himself exploring the outer limits of space.
“Iron Man” co-writers Art Marcum and Matt Holloway are set to pen the script. Buck Rogers is just one of many classic heroes from the 1920s to the 1950s who are being reintroduced to the big screen that include: Conan, Doc Savage, the Green Hornet, The Shadow and Dan Dare.
The folks at Paradox Entertainment, who are currently working on rebooting “Conan,” with Marcus Nispel helming, will produce the “Buck Rogers” sci-fi adventure.
Details of the plot are unknown at this stage but we’re pretty sure it’ll essentially involve a present day hero-to-be who wakes up in the very distant future and somewhere in space. Think “Star Trek,” but with a guy who has no idea what the hell is going on. Yes, it will be awesome.
