Disney Pixar announced today that the “Monsters, Inc.” sequel will now be renamed “Monsters University” and will be a prequel rather than continuation from the first film.
“Monsters University” will follow “Mike and Sulley during their tenure at the University of Fear, where they start off as enemies and slowly become friends. It will effectively serve as a prequel to the events seen in Monsters, Inc.” Both Billy Crystal and John Goodman will reprise their roles as Mike and Sully.
“Monsters University” will be released on November 2nd, 2012.
If this will be a prequel, does that mean there won’t be Boo?! Pixar say it ain’t so!
Superman is currently scheduled for release on July 11, 2025
The new series is set for a two-episode premiere, June 4 on Disney+.
