‘Powerpuff Girls’ Live-Action Sequel Series Confirmed For HBO Max W/Diablo Cody

We heard rumors of a Power Puff Girls sequel live action series that focuses on the girls all grown-up and dealing with the weirdest possible version of having been child stars a while back. Diablo Cody was attached to the show that was set to take a darker and more satirical look life after stardom for the three girls made of Sugar, Spice, and Material X.

In a new report from THR we know that the show is no longer just an idea, but a confirmed production heading to HBO Max. While no casting has been announced as of yet, we know that the main concept for the show is: “Blossom, Bubbles and Buttercup as disillusioned twentysomethings who resent having lost their childhoods to crime fighting.”

As will all super hero shows, we hope HBO Max does a good job here. They’ve got a good team between Cody and Veronica Mars’  Heather Regnier. Conceptually, we’re just not sure how they’re going to make it a show that is worth watching.
