Here’s the first installment of a new film analysis series called “In The Cut,” which features voice over analysis by Jim Emerson of Press Play analyzing the epic chase sequence in Christopher Nolan’s “The Dark Knight.”
In it, Emerson painstakingly mulls over the incoherent action scene in “The Dark Knight” and walks viewers through each inexplicable direction change, spatial confusions, confusing cuts and out of order sequences. If you’re a fan of “The Dark Knight” or a director/editor in training, there’s a lot that can be learned in this analysis of what you should and shouldn’t do when filming/editing an action sequence.
