Ricky Gervais Plans To Make A Chinese Version Of ‘The Office’

Ricky Gervais is remaking the hit show “The Office” for Chinese television, the 45-year-old star has confirmed on his personal blog.

“I have some amazing news too. We are about to start work on developing a Chinese ‘The Office’. How cool is that?,” Gervais writes.

The sitcom, set in a Slough paper company, propelled Gervais into a household name and has been remade for viewers around the world.

Best known of the remakes is the US version starring Hollywood funnyman Steve Carell and Rainn Wilson, Jenna Fischer and John Krasinski.

But versions have also been made in countries like France and Israel.
