It’s been revealed via Shadowlocked.com that Ridley Scott’s upcoming Alien prequel/reboot will be in 3D.
Art director Roger Christian (Star Wars, Aliens) who is actually not involved in the film confirms this by saying, “Ridley’s doing the next Alien in 3D.”
Christian also adds, “Ridley told me some of his ideas. He has a very clear understanding of where this should go. They kind of stopped dead one of the greatest horror franchises there’s ever been, and it had legs to go on. So I’m hoping he’ll revive another three.”
3D is all the rage these days so while it’s no surprise that Aliens will end up being 3D, it actually makes sense in this case as Aliens in 3D will be all kinds of awesome.
“3D is brilliant for horror,” Christian quips. It’ll definitely inject new life and meaning to jump scenes.
