Robert Kirkman Hints At Upcoming Characters For The Next Few Seasons Of AMC’s ‘The Walking Dead’

In an interview with USA Today, “The Walking Dead” creator Robert Kirkman hinted at two characters from the comic book who might make the leap from the comic pages to the small screen in the next two seasons:

“Frank (Darabont) has already hinted at the fact we’ll be seeing Michonne as early as Season 2. The Governor is probably a little ways off from Season 2 — maybe Season 3 or beyond,” said Kirkman.

Kirkman also spoke about wanting to find a way to bring Daryl Dixon, a character featured only from the television series, into the comics continuity.

Additionally, Kirkman also explained how the first season of the show is loosely based off the first few issues of the comic book and that we’ve yet to really see the true nature of the pivotal character Rick Grimes:

“I like to call the one in the comic book ‘Crazy Rick’ because he will do anything he has to do to survive, even if it’s seemingly wrong, just because. There were some times when I had to pull back, but I was able to rein myself in and not doing anything too crazy.”

Season two of “The Walking Dead” is set to return near the end of October this year.
